“Let’s prove them wrong” is what’s probably in Email Marketing’s mind because that’s what it really did. It proved its non-believers that it can continue to exist even with the changes brought by time. Although it was predicted to be ineffective, email marketing designed new ways that makes it able to adapt to the evolving technology. So long, haters!

Looking back, email marketing debuted with booming success rate, that’s when DEC machines received 13 million worth of sales through mass mailing. Gray Thuerk earned the title, “Father of Spam”, for being responsible for that historic moment. The glorious moment didn’t last long, though. More and more marketers wanted to try the craze.  Eventually, the marketing strategy was put into the shadows of criticism. The recipients were receiving too many advertisements ‘causing their inboxes to overload. They were upset, of course, who wouldn’t be?

To fix the problem, laws were implemented to protect the people from those unwanted mails they receive. With those, email marketing became safer than before. Hurray!

The question remains: Why do businesses invest on email marketing?

Email marketing builds credibility.
Email marketing boosts sales.
Email marketing reaches people in any device.

If those three are not enough to show you the perks of email marketing, listed below are a couple more (I won’t let you finish this article without being enlightened!).

            Sending messages is a lot faster so expect to receive feedback faster as well.

            It’s easier to pull together an email.

  1. Increases Web Traffic

            The consumers who received your promo email, and are interested, will definitely click the link enclosed in the             email. That link, most likely, leads to your website and thus helps to increase web traffic.

  1. Gives you the chance to start without a lot of fuss

            It’s always scary (and exciting) to begin doing something new but rest assured, Email Marketing is easy to                     control. Just do make sure you use the right software.

Staying true to its advantages, such as its lower cost (compared to other mainstream marketing channel), mass reach, ability to send directly to the fans of the product, email marketing remained beneficial to the marketers. Aside from those, it now has a global reach, and is easier to create, track and share.

Rather than asking, “Why do businesses invest in email marketing?”, wouldn’t it be better to ask, “Why wouldn’t business invest in Email Marketing?”.

Email Marketing proved itself. Soon enough, the least expensive communication channel, were able to boost its abilities, as well as its design. It finally became the shoe that makes the today’s technology gasp and say, “It’s a perfect fit.”

Email marketing might’ve been deserted by some but it is now as developed and as creative as never before. Because of that, marketers finally see the beauty of it. How It can offer quality, and witty emails that will persuade consumers to buy what’s being offered on the screen. That will surely bring profit to the company!

Come on! With GIFs, colorful promo posters, inviting captions, who wouldn’t be interested? And, with those, overflowing our inboxes, who’ll dare say that email marketing is dead?
